Alice Lucile Callison

June 6, 1919 - April 14, 2011

Alice Lucile Callison, 91, of Janesville, died April 14, 2011 “a life well lived” . She was born on June 6, 1919 in Footville, WI, the daughter of Harry and Myrtle (Heron) Wells. She graduated from Janesville High School. Lucile was the true center of the family, her home a place where family and friends always gathered. Her talents were many. She was an accomplished seamstress, a marvelous gardener, a knowledgeable bird watcher, a lover of the out of doors and a smart conversationalist. She was a member of First Congregational Church. She gave her time and talents to organizations such as the YWCA, Meals On Wheels, church rummage sales and Questers. Everyone who met her is a better person for having had her in their life.

Lucile is survived by: daughter, Gail C. Chase (Marv) of Jeffersonville, Vermont, their daughter, Aimee Chase and her husband, Nathan Bultman, son, Randy Callison (Karen) of Janesville and their children, Lynnea Callison-Lucas, Crystal Callison, grandsons: Brad Porter, Eric Porter (Brenda), brother, Harry Thomas Wells, sisters-in-law, Diane Ackerman and Maxine Callison, great-grandchildren, Allison Lucas, Joey Lucas, Brianne Porter, Zach Stuka, KayLee Porter, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Her husband, Gordon Callison, daughter, Karen Porter, grandson, Lon Porter as well as 3 siblings predeceased her.

Remembrances may be sent to Mercy Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville with Rev. Wes Bixby officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Milton Junction Cemetery.
